10000 Km Update - New Rubber time!

Well, I have put 10,000 km (Almost 11,000!) on this bike over the past 4 years.
It's time for new tires!
Picked up this set of Dunlop D404's. Got them for a pretty good price from a local dealer. Looking forward to getting them on the bike!

Ride Log: Grand Forks, BC to Salmon Arm, BC

Drove down to Grand Forks Tuesday night with the truck and the trailer with the bike in tow. Dropped the truck off and rode the bike back the next day, a 307 km ride. Left at 5:30 am and arrived in Salmon Arm at 10:00. It was pretty cold. Gassed up in Rock Creek and by the time I got to Beaverdell I was shivering uncontrollably. Thankfully, the Red Rock Garage Inc. cafe was open! Had a 20 min pit stop there to warm up with a nice Americano and on I went. Overall, it was a very sweet ride with very little traffic. I could feel the bike start to run rich near the turn off to Big White (higher elevation) but otherwise, it served me very well.

Spring is in the air!

Rolled Charlie over to the shop. Time to deal with a few things in preparation for the season. I want to take the right crank case cover off, polish it, and delete the tachometer mechanism and figure out some way to plug the hole. I would also like to get the tank and fenders professionally painted. I had a can of copper paint in my hand and speckle painted it back in October and I think it looks terrible. Back to basic black!

Also, currently reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance....

Sorrento via White Lake & Balmoral, back to Blind Bay for supper with the family at Finz. Beautiful evening.

Let my buddy Dave take Charlie for a short rip. He was impressed with Charlie's acceleration and speed. I was all smiles the whole time.

Charlie's in serious need of a top end rebuild. Not riding until this is all done :(

Dime City Cycles bar end mirrors arrived!

They end up making the handle bars look very wide but seem very functional; un-obstructed view behind me. All I mostly saw with the other mirrors was my arm. Might just keep the left side and maybe sell the other? We'll see.
