Ride Log: Grand Forks, BC to Salmon Arm, BC

Drove down to Grand Forks Tuesday night with the truck and the trailer with the bike in tow. Dropped the truck off and rode the bike back the next day, a 307 km ride. Left at 5:30 am and arrived in Salmon Arm at 10:00. It was pretty cold. Gassed up in Rock Creek and by the time I got to Beaverdell I was shivering uncontrollably. Thankfully, the Red Rock Garage Inc. cafe was open! Had a 20 min pit stop there to warm up with a nice Americano and on I went. Overall, it was a very sweet ride with very little traffic. I could feel the bike start to run rich near the turn off to Big White (higher elevation) but otherwise, it served me very well.

Spring is in the air!

Rolled Charlie over to the shop. Time to deal with a few things in preparation for the season. I want to take the right crank case cover off, polish it, and delete the tachometer mechanism and figure out some way to plug the hole. I would also like to get the tank and fenders professionally painted. I had a can of copper paint in my hand and speckle painted it back in October and I think it looks terrible. Back to basic black!

Also, currently reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle maintenance....
